21 Savage Receives 8 New Platinum and Gold RIAA Certifications

Written by on April 1, 2021

21 Savage has to make some more room on his walls.

On Wednesday, 21 Savage secured eight new RIAA plaques. Of these, four came from 21’s latest outing with Metro Boomin Savage Mode 2. The Drake-assisted “Mr. Right Now” and “Runnin” are now platinum-selling singles while “Glock in My Lap” and “Rich Nigga Shit” featuring Young Thug have both secured gold plaques.

Outside of Savage Mode 2, 21’s Grammy-winning record “A Lot” featuring J. Cole is now a 5-time platinum single. This set the stage for another track from I Am > I Was “Out for the Night” to be certified gold. Also, 21’s breakthrough single, “Bank Account,” from his debut album Issa is now 6-times platinum.

For the most part, these singles are expected to generate a lot of buzz and sales. Yet, a song from 21’s sleeper projects, Without Warning, also received a new accolade. The track “Rap Saved Me” which was featured on Savage’s 2017 joint project with Offset and Metro Boomin now has a certified platinum plaque.

Altogether, these certifications give 21 Savage a total of 41 plaques. This isn’t bad for an artist whose music is a violent—but calm—mixture of Drill, Trap, and Horrorcore influences.
