50 Best Songs of 2022 (So Far): Top Songs of the Year

There are more ways to find out about new music than ever. The traditional methods—radio, magazines, billboards, record stores, word of mouth—are still here, and they’ve been joined by new innovations like TikTok and playlists. Meanwhile, technology has also made it easier to make and distribute music than ever, and over 60,000 songs are uploaded to Spotify every day. As a result, it’s a little daunting to be a music fan right now, but anyone with enough patience to go digging will be rewarded with a vast amount of incredible new songs, especially if they look in the right places. 

That’s where we come in. As we reach the halfway point of 2022, the Complex Music staff came together to dig through all of the year’s new music and compile a list of our favorite songs so far. These are the songs we’ve found ourselves coming back to over and over, and they represent the best that the music world has to offer—from underground artists to A-list superstars.
