6th Alleged Gang Member Charged Over FBG Duck’s Fatal Shooting

Written by on April 11, 2023

A sixth alleged member of South Side Chicago’s O-Block gang has been charged in the murder of FBG Duck, who in 2020 was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting.

ABC 7 Chicago reports Ralph Turpin, 33, who goes by the nicknames “Tall” and “Teezy,” has been charged with one count of committing murder in aid of racketeering and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering.

In October 2021, five other reputed O-Block members were charged with committing murder in aid of racketeering in connection with FBG Duck’s death: Charles “C Murda” Liggins, 30; Kenneth “Kenny” Robinson, 28; Tacarlos “Los” Offerd, 30; Christopher “C Thang” Thomas, 22; and Marcus “Muwop” Smart, 22.

O-Block is a subsection of the prominent Chicago gang Black Disciples, which has a long-standing feud with rival gang the Gangster Disciples, which FBG Duck was a member of. On Aug. 4, 2020, Duck, born Carlton Weekly, was fatally shot in a drive-by that took place as the rapper was standing outside a store while shopping for his son’s birthday.

“The reason that this is charged federally is that we were able to establish evidence that there was a racketeering enterprise here that was involved and this murder was done in furtherance of that,” Northern District of Illinois U.S. Attorney John Lausch said at the time.

Turpin is scheduled to appear in court on April 12 for his detention hearing.
