Widely regarded one of the all-time great performance basketball sneakers, the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 will soon be reintroduced with modern tech as part of the line’s Protro series.
Soleheatonfeet reports that a make-up in White/Orion Blue-Varsity Purple is slated to drop in Feb. 2019. While not confirmed, it’s possible that will be a re-release of the “Draft Day” colorway.

This past Feb., Nike launched the Zoom Kobe 1 Protro, nearly 1-to-1 reproductions of the originals, but with updated tech and cushioning setups. The Kobe 4 Protro appears to be following a similar timeline.

UPDATE (02/05): According to Foot Locker’s release calendar, the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 Protro will be making its debut on Feb. 15 during 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend. To represent this year’s host city, the updated take on the popular Kobe signature will be introduced in the “Draft Day” colorway. The pair represents Kobe Bryant originally being drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996 before getting traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Pricing has yet to be announced.
UPDATE (02/06): Nike has confirmed that the “Draft Day” Zoom Kobe 4 Protro will be releasing for All-Star Weekend with a Feb. 15 release from SNKRS North America, nike.com, and select global Nike retailers.
In addition to locking in the date, the Swoosh also provided some specs on the updates made to the Protro model. This revamped retro features a new shape (most noticeable at the heel and vamp), wider traction patterns on the outsole, and perhaps most importantly, full-length Zoom Air as opposed to the OG which used the cushioning solely in the heel.
