Man Plans to Sue Parents for Giving Birth to Him Without His Consent

Raphael Samuel, a 27-year-old business executive from Mumbai, revealed that he plans on suing his parents for giving birth to him without his consent. As someone who considers himself to be a follower of antinatalism, Samuel believes that parents shouldn’t procreate in order to avoid bringing children in the world who will only go through pain and suffering. For bringing him into the world without seeking his approval, he thinks his parental units should pay him to live.
“I want everyone in India and the world to realize one thing that they are born without their consent. I want them to understand that they do not owe their parents anything,” Samuel said, per Fox News. “If we are born without our consent, we should be maintained for our life. We should be paid by our parents to live.”
According to the BBC, Samuel informed his parents, who are both lawyers, about six months ago of his plan to sue them. His mother welcomed the challenge, and promised to not take it easy on him. “She said that’s fine, but don’t expect me to go easy on you. I will destroy you in court,” he recalls.
Samuel has admittedly struggled to find an attorney who would defend him because, as you could probably guess, it’s very unlikely that his argument would ever stick in court. While Samuel understands that a judge may never give his case the time of day, he is trying to use this lawsuit (and the attention it has received) to “make a point.”
Samuel revealed what he claims to be a statement from his mother on Facebook.
