Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ Album Is Here

Though the journey to Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next album wasn’t very long, it also wasn’t very pleasant. The roll out for the hotly anticipated project was framed by a number of heartbreaking incidents, including the death of Ariana’s ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and her highly publicized split with her ex-fiancé Pete Davidson.
Singles like “7 Rings,” “Imagine,” and the album’s title track touched on Ariana’s grief and the ways she has overcome pain.
“A lot of this album mourns failed yet important, beautiful relationships in my life (as well as celebrates growth / exploring new independence),” she wrote on social media. “But for those of you asking about imagine: i would say if ‘thank u, next’ = acceptance… ‘imagine’ = denial. hope that makes sense.”
Along with the album’s release, Ariana delivered the official video for “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.” Watch it below.
You can listen to Ariana’s new album on Apple Music/iTunes and via Spotify below.
Thank U, Next arrives less than six months after the singer dropped her fourth studio album Sweetner. She will support both projects with a world tour that kicks off next month in Albany, New York.
Ariana was also set to perform at the 61st Grammys this weekend, but said she pulled out of the gig because her “creative expression was stifled by” the show’s producer.
