Keep your eye on Shavone.
After creating waves within the tech world, the West Coast native is ready to take the music world by storm with her unique and multifaceted sound. The classically trained artist says her exposure to hip-hop, Caribbean tunes, and funk helped shape her musical tastes and distinct lyrical flow, which you can hear on her newly released record “SITH.”
The track finds Shavone spitting over Kanye West and Pusha T’s “Numbers on the Board” beat:
More ships than Star Wars, rays darth
Dark force, no savior SITH Lord
Top-heavy like a two-seater Tesla
Bottom body stacked like a mat of sumo wrestlers
Flow Hannibal in a cipher I go cannibal
Rising like Maya Angelou
Touching me is intangible”
The record was accompanied by an official music video shot at Orixa Jones’ Safe Space Studio in Inglewood. The video, directed by Curtis Taylor Jr., is one of the first productions by Magic In Her Melanin, a creative collective founded by Shavone.
