Los Angeles comic Brody Stevens died of an apparent suicide on Feb. 22. News of his death spread quickly through a town where he seems to have worked with just about everybody, both in his roles in films like The Hangover and as a warm-up act for shows all over the city he called home for his entire life.
The 48-year-old Comedy Store staple was toasted on Twitter by a who’s who of comics, including Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Bob Saget, and Maria Bamford, among others. Many of the comics shared their favorite Brody stories and encouraged anyone reading to seek help if they are dealing with suicidal thoughts.
