Former president Donald Trump will serve as a guest commentator for Saturday’s Evander Holyfield-Vitor Belfort PPV fight.
ESPN reports Trump will be joined by his son, Donald Trump Jr., as the two call the fight from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The pair will lead the “alternate” broadcast, giving viewers the option to purchase the normal broadcast of Jim Lampley and Shawn Porter instead. The Triller Fight Club event costs $49.99 and will be broadcast on FITE TV.
“I love great fighters and great fights,” Trump said in a press release. “I look forward to seeing both this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won’t want to miss this special event.”
The eight-round bout will mark Holyfield’s return to the boxing ring. The 58-year-old former heavyweight champion has not participated in professional boxing since a 2011 win over Brian Nielsen. The boxing legend will go toe-to-toe with 44-year-old Belfort, a former UFC Light Heavyweight titleholder who retired in 2018.
It isn’t the first time Trump has dabbled in the boxing world. The 75-year-old businessman hosted several high-profile boxing matches during the 1980s and 1990s at his casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey, including the 1987 heavyweight match between Michael Spinks and Gerry Cooney.
