The 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards have arrived and with it performances from acts like Young Thug, Gunna, Bia, Baby Keem, Isaiah Rashad, and others.
The event took place at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center and was hosted by Karlous Miller, DC Young Fly, and Chico Bean.
Nelly, who is being honored with the I Am Hip Hop award, is also performing. Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Master P, and others previously received the I Am Hip Hop award.
“I am honored to receive this award and humbled to be in such great company of past artists who have received this award,” Nelly said. “I have been blessed to work with some incredible people in my career, making 22 years go by in the blink of an eye. This award isn’t just about Nelly; it is about my fans, BET, and the people that continue to support me and allow me to do what I love to do.”
Also during the show, Tyler, the Creator was honored with the Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award. During his acceptance speech, Tyler shouted out Missy Elliot, Kanye West, Chad Hugo, Pharrell, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, and others for inspiring him and paving the way.
