After Jay-Z gave a heartfelt shout-out to his Roc-A-Fella co-founder Dame Dash during his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction acceptance speech, Dame said on Monday that he’d be open to ending the pair’s years-long feud.
“Shout-out to Dame,” Jay said during his speech at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage Field House. “I know we don’t see eye to eye, but I can never erase your accomplishments. And I appreciate you and I thank you for that.” He paid homage to Kareem “Biggs” Burke as well.
As reported by Page Six, which spoke directly with Dame, the mogul called the speech “beautiful,” and admitted he was surprised when his former friend offered his thanks and praise.
“I’m glad he said it for the culture,” Dame told the outlet. “We need to squash everything. So hopefully if that was an extended [olive branch], I’ll spin one back.”
He added that he is more than willing to speak with Jay, as long as the lawyers remove themselves. “I have no beef with [him] if [he has] no beef with me,” Dame said. “Let’s get the lawyers out of it then. Let’s talk like men, but I definitely appreciate it.”
