Ahead of the release of Halle Berry’s directorial debut Bruised, City Girls have dropped their contribution to the film’s soundtrack, “Scared.”
Combining the talents of the two Florida rappers once again, after a series of promising solo singles from both JT and Yung Miami, “Scared” is our latest taste of the Bruised soundtrack. Other artists set to appear on the soundtrack include Cardi B, Saweetie, Young M.A, DreamDoll, Flo Milli, and H.E.R. among others.
Upon announcing the soundtrack for Bruised, Berry expressed her excitement in comments shared with Variety. “I can’t wait to show it,” she said. “I have to tell you, one of the things I’m most excited about is the title song that H.E.R. sang… and she killed it. So I can’t wait to share with everyone and am super excited.”
The MMA sports drama isn’t just directed by Halle Berry, it also stars her in the lead role of Jackie Justice. Following Justice’s career as an aging fighter in the industry, the real drama of Bruised comes when her six-year-old son whom she gave up for adoption resurfaces in her life ahead of one of the biggest fights of her career.
The full soundtrack is set to release on November 19, while the movie premieres on Netflix on November 24.
