Argon Nike Dunk Low Retro Releasing in 2022, Price and Release Date
Written by SOURCE on December 23, 2021
The “Argon” Nike Dunk Low, originally produced in 2001, will release as a retro for the first time next year, sneaker industry sources tell Complex. The shoe is slated to arrive between summer and fall, although Nike release dates have recently been prone to shifts due to supply chain issues, so its targeted arrival window could move before the expected launch.
The 2022 “Argon” Dunk Low will be a quickstrike priced at $110.
There are no leaked images of the upcoming Dunk re-release yet, and the above photo is of an original pair from 2001. Nike hasn’t publicly confirmed the return of the “Argon” Dunk and likely won’t for months.
The “Argon” was an important sneaker for collectors at the turn of the millennium, helping ignite a frenzy around the retro Dunk. The “Argon” Dunk is often cited as part of Nike’s CO.JP series of shoes designed specifically for the Japanese market, although the actual history of that line is somewhat murky.
Sneaker collector Damien Bolton, who goes by sk8thegr8, recalls stumbling across pairs on a trip to Tokyo in 2014. He uncovered some in a storage unit of footwear treasure held by the owner of sneaker shop Worm Tokyo and found more at Skit, another of the city’s destinations for sneakerheads.
“It was a neck breaker back in the day,” Bolton says. “That sky blue would stick out like crazy.”
