After selling 82 million games worldwide, Master Chief is ready to make his acting debut, and a very explosive one at that.
The new trailer for the Halo series—coming to Paramount+ and produced by Showtime, 343 Industries, and Amblin Entertainment—was unveiled Sunday during the NFL’s AFC Championship game. The new clip follows the Covenant, an alien, attacking a village before Master Chief and crew find a weapon called a Halo.
“Cortana, I’m gonna need you now,” Master Chief says at the end of the dramatic clip. “Find the Halo, win the war.”
The clip also teases Chief’s origins, along with other Spartans, as they are conceptualized by the United Nations Space Command. The series stars Pablo Schreiber, Natascha McElhone, Jen Taylor, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, and more.
The series comes shortly after Microsoft dropped Halo Infinite over the holiday season, marking the first game in the fan-favorite series since 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians.
“It takes place very much in the universe that the video games created, but it’s a TV show,” Schreiber previously told Entertainment Weekly. “We get to expand that universe and create stories in it. There’s going to be some new characters that are introduced, there’s going to be a lot of familiar characters that everyone will know from the game.”
