Saints Running Back Alvin Kamara Arrested on Battery Charges

Alvin Kamara, running back for the New Orleans Saints, was arrested in Las Vegas on Saturday on charges of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm. He was in town to play in the Pro-Bowl.
Las Vegas Metro Police responded to an incident around 5:50 p.m. Saturday night, per 8 New Now, after a victim in a hospital reported that they were battered at a nightclub in the South Las Vegas Boulevard area. Kamara was then identified by authorities as a suspect, arrested, and is being held at Clark County Detention Center.
Battery resulting in substantial bodily harm is a felony in the state of Nevada, according to TMZ, meaning Kamara could face several years in jail if convicted.
The investigation into the alleged battery is still ongoing, and local news station KSNV reports that Kamara is now scheduled to appear in court Monday. Metro police are urging anyone with information about the matter to get in contact with the department’s Patrol Detectives.
Kamara is a five-time Pro Bowler and became the second player in league history to score six rushing touchdowns in one game. He was named offensive rookie of the year in 2017.
