Britney Spears Reportedly Secures $15 Million Tell-All Book Deal

Britney Spears has reportedly locked in one of the biggest book deals ever.
Page Six says the pop superstar secured a deal that could be worth as much as $15 million with publishing house Simon & Schuster. The “tell-all” memoir will cover her career and family life. An insider told the outlet Spears was at the center of a bidding war and that the sale is “one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obamas,” who reportedly sold the rights to their books for over $60 million in 2017. Before that, Bill Clinton got a $15M deal for his first book after his presidency in 2001.
The report claims Spears’ decision to pen a book came as her sister Jamie Lynn released Things I Should Have Said, over which the two have had a public back-and-forth over. Jamie’s book landed in tandem with the much-publicized conclusion of Britney’s 13-year-long conservatorship.
“I wish you would take a lie detector test so all these masses of people see you’re lying through your teeth about me,” Britney wrote on Instagram. “I wish the almighty, Lord would could come down and show this whole world that you’re lying and making money off of me !!!!”
Spears previously teased a potential book when she posted a photo of a typewriter back in January with the caption “shall I start from the beginning.”
Britney Spears’ conservatorship was officially terminated in November, after her father—who was appointed as co-conservator with Andrew Wallet in 2008—was suspended from the role in September. Spears asked the court to terminate the conservatorship during a hearing on June 23, and said she hadn’t had control over her finances, medical decisions, and other aspects of her life as a result.
“Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy,” she wrote on Instagram following the ruling last year. “I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day!!!! Best day ever…praise the Lord…can I get an Amen #FreedBritney.”
