Joe Biden Might Have Accidentally Announced His 2020 Presidential Campaign

Written by on March 17, 2019

There has been much speculation on if Joe Biden will announce a 2020 presidential campaign. However, the ex-Vice President has let the rumors swirl instead of addressing them head-on. But while hosting a dinner in his beloved state of Delaware, the former state representative might have accidentally confirmed his future plans.

“I know I get criticized. I’m told I get criticized by the new left. I have the most progressive record of anybody running for the — anybody who would run,” Biden said to the crowd on Saturday night before trying to hide the mistake with a cough.

This mishap ignited the crowd, who cheered “Run, Joe, run” in response. But Biden didn’t give them the satisfaction of formally announcing his presidential bid.

“I didn’t mean it,” Biden said with a laugh. “Of anybody who would run, because, folks, we have to bring this country back together again.”

Biden’s hiccup seems like a precursor to the politician’s official announcement. Delaware Senator Chris Coons told reporters on Saturday that he’s certain Biden will run for president. Coons even said to the audience before Biden’s speech that he’s “confident that 598 days from now, we will together be celebrating” a new president.
