Gunna performed his Metro Boomin-produced track “Banking on Me” and “Pushin P” with Future on Saturday Night Live for his debut as musical guest on NBC’s long-running sketch comedy show.
Speaking of debuts, Jerrod Carmichael hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time. You can head here to check out the comedian’s opening monologue. Gunna previously hit the SNL stage during Young Thug’s performance on the show back in 2021.
Gunna’s DS4EVER album, which dropped back in January, boasted appearances from Young Thug, Kodak Black, Chlöe, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, and others. The album also featured the tracks “Flooded,” “How You Did That,” “South to West,” “Missing Me,” “So Far Ahead > Empire,” and more. DS4EVER debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart by moving 150,000 album-equivalent units in its first week out. The project narrowly beat out The Weeknd’s Dawn FM album, which ended up debuting in the No. 2 spot.
In March, Gunna performed his track “Private Island” on A COLORS SHOW. Also in March, Gunna took to social media to tease that he’s dropping new music in the summer. “Yall n****s better drop soon cuz I’m this summer,” the rapper wrote on Instagram.
