Pusha-T Links With Jay-Z on Pharrell-Produced “Neck & Wrist”

It’s Pusha-T season again, and we’re about to have a surgical spring this time around.
Nearly four years after the release of his critically acclaimed LP Daytona, Push is continuing to rollout his follow-up. And just as promised, production on the record is already sounding superb. Taking the assist from the Ye and 88-Keys-produced lead single “Diet Coke,” Push has now released a Jay-Z collaboration, titled “Neck & Wrist,” that was produced by Pharrell. Jay and Push previously collaborated on “Drug Dealers Anonymous.”
In the comment section of Push’s Instagram announcement on Tuesday, Tyler, the Creator asked if the song would inspire him to “irresponsibly purchase something.” Push confirmed that it “definitely should,” and by the sound of the track itself, he wasn’t lying.
In a recent interview with Complex, the Clipse MC credited Pharrell for pushing him outside of his comfort zone on the album, which Skateboard P executive produced alongside Ye. Pharrell just rang in his 49th birthday on Tuesday, so what better way to celebrate than a new Jay feature?
“I’m trying to get to the bottom of the barrel of some street shit, and I’ve got to go through an orchestra,” Push said. “But you’ve got to do it. You’ve got to let him go through his process.”
Speaking on his legacy as his album approaches, Push added that he’s “always looking to heighten what it is I do in the rap game.”
“This is all about being great. This is all about making sure that the subgenre of street rap is seen at the highest levels, and can compete with everything that’s popular,” he said. “This is the realest real estate in hip-hop, and I’m the Martin Scorsese of it.”
