Hot 97 Announces Their List of Performers for Their Annual Summer Jam Event

Written by on April 30, 2022

Amid the rumblings of the iconic hallways that are Hot 97, silence was broken this morning when during the Ebro in the Morning show at 9 a.m. the performers were announced for their annual Summer Jam concert.

Rosenberg, Laura Stylez, and Ebro, one after the other began reading off the freshest talent to hit the legendary stage in years, with a few others who pursued the opportunity relentlessly, which is what this new industry requires.

With hip hop’s sub-genre of drill becoming the center of controversy, especially in New York, Hot 97 is pushing boundaries and hosting Brooklyn-native Fivio Foreign who met earlier in the year with Mayor Eric Adams to talk about the potential influence of the music on street violence, per New York TMZ producer Seleah Simone.

Other acts include the City Girls, Shenseea, DreamDoll, Cordae, B-Lovee, NLE Choppa, Nardo Wick, Yung Bleu and newcomer Saucy Santana who just signed to RCA Records. The unapologetically gay rapper continues to stand as an example that acceptance isn’t something to be earned—it’s to be expected and given.

As part of April’s popular releases, Pusha T’s newest album It’s Almost Dry will power his performance during Summer Jam as one of the headliners alongside Lil Baby, Burna Boy, Young Thug and Gunna, Lil Durk, and Roddy Ricch.

Hot 97’s Digital Producer Melissa Gabriel effortlessly directed traffic as talent mingled with the legendary DJs, while fielding interview requests from the media—bringing back radio’s golden age where the disc jockey reigned supreme, and Summer Jam was New York hip hop’s crowned jewel of events; which it still is. Obviously.

Summer Jam happens this year on June 12 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Tickets go on sale on Saturday via Ticketmaster and hot97.com/summerjam
