Fifteen people were injured in Atlanta on Saturday night when a pub bike overturned, per the Atlanta Police Department.
The “Pedal Pub” bike driver has since been arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Two people are in critical condition, while three people are in serious condition, Atlanta Fire & Rescue spokesperson Alyssa Richardson told NBC News.
The 15 participants have been taken to hospitals “with varying injuries,” though none appear to be life-threatening.
“Immediately, the public came out, running out of their cars, taking it back up and saving people who were lying underneath,” a woman told FOX 5 Atlanta, adding that “people were sort of coming out of this situation just sitting down on the curb and people were clearly hurt.”
The APD is investigating the incident, as the name of the driver, or “pilot,” of the pedal-powered vehicle has not been released.
