Halsey Shares New Track “So Good” Following Label Dispute

After a long and drama-filled wait, Halsey has finally released their “So Good” single.
The track, produced by Tobias Karlsson and Max Martin, hit streaming services on Thursday, about two weeks after Halsey accused their label of refusing to drop it. Halsey made the claim in a May 22 TikTok video, in which they confirmed the song and its official video were already completed. The singer-songwriter told fans they wanted to drop the material ASAP, but was told it wouldn’t be released without a viral moment to promote it.
“I’ve been in this industry for 8 years and I’ve sold over 165 million records and my record company is saying that I can’t release [the song] unless they can fake a viral moment on TikTok,” Halsey wrote. “Everything is marketing. And they are doing this to basically every artist these days. U just wanna release music, man. And I deserve better. TBH, I’m tired.”
Shortly after, Capitol Records released a statement expressing their support for Halsey and emphasizing the importance of having an “open dialogue.” The label then confirmed “So Good” would arrive on June 9.
The track is reportedly inspired by Halsey’s relationship with Alev Aydin, who also directed the “So Good” video. You can listen to the song now on all major platforms or via the visualizer above. The official video, co-starring Halsey and Aydin, will be released Friday.
Halsey is currently on the road for the Love and Power Tour. Check out the performance dates below.
