A fight broke out between families at the Walt Disney World Resort Wednesday, with one person later requiring medical attention.
According to the blog Walt Disney World News Today, a guest and their family were waiting in line for the PhilharMagic show when the person realized they had left their phone in their electric scooter, and went to retrieve it. When that person tried to reunite with their group, another family in matching clothing refused to allow the guest to return to their spot in the line, and pushed them in the back.
The group, wearing a matching white shirt and red shorts ensemble, waited near the exit of the venue to confront the guest and their family. “Listen man, we don’t want trouble, we don’t appreciate you guys pushing my younger sister,” one member of the guest’s family told the other group.
After someone struck the guest, their brother responded, and a physical altercation ensued between the two families. A witness told FOX 35 News that security personnel arrived at the scene about two minutes later, and deputies showed up a few minutes after that. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said three people were arrested for battery.
A member of the guest’s family was taken to the hospital with a large cut on their chin.
This is the second fight in three months at Magic Kingdom. In early May, a woman sustained a head injury after she was pulled to the ground by her hair by another woman. The confrontation stemmed from another couple moving in front of the victim and her husband as they waited for the fireworks show to begin, and allegedly elbowing their daughter in the process.
The victim was hospitalized with a brain bleed. The woman’s husband and the other couple were all charged with battery.
