Ezra Miller Apologizes, Says They’re Seeking Mental Health Treatment

Ezra Miller issued a statement on their mental health and included an apology to those “alarmed and upset” by their “past behavior,” which includes public arrests and serious allegations of misbehavior and manipulation.
In remarks delivered to Variety and the Hollywood Reporter via a representative, the 29-year-old The Flash star stated, “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment. I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”
Mere days ago THR published a piece that detailed three routes an insider says Warner Bros. Discovery is mulling for The Flash. The $200 million film has been in the works for several years and still has support from the company amid some serious shakeups in its DC plans, including the confusing, unceremonious shelving of the already-shot Batgirl movie. One potential outcome discussed in the article is Miller seeking professional help, eventually speaking about their troubles in an interview, and doing very limited publicity for the film. Another possibility is Miller choosing not to get help, the Andy Muschietti-directed movie goes to theaters without emphasizing its star’s presence in the marketing or publicity, and Ezra gets recast in subsequent projects.
However, if the “situation with Miller deteriorates further,” as THR put it, The Flash—slated for June 2023—could be completely nixed.
