Ahead of the release of his fifth studio album Soul Sold Separately, due out Sept. 30, Freddie Gibbs taps Moneybagg Yo for his new single “Too Much.”
“All this money that I got, I could never get too much,” Gibbs raps on the track, which arrives alongside a music video inspired by the Ocean’s Eleven franchise.
Soul Sold Separately will mark Freddie’s major label debut, coming two years after he signed a deal with Warner Records. The title of the LP refers to the Indiana rapper’s “refusal to compromise his morals or integrity under the pressures of the industry,” the label said in a press release.
Freddie kicked off the album rollout earlier this week, posting billboards in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York that promote a phone number and contain the “SSS Casino” logo that appears in the “Too Much” video.
While serving as the official follow-up to his last full-length solo effort—2018’s Freddie—Soul Sold Separately follows a pair of collaborative projects, 2019’s Bandana with Madlib and 2020’s Alfredo with The Alchemist.
