Ouri awakens in a trippy animated world in the new video for “Ossature” from her 2022 Polaris Music Prize shortlisted album Frame Of A Fauna.
The video was directed by Derek Branscombe.
“I revisited the iconic, agile and tense sample of ‘Intact Alef’ by PTU from one of my favorite labels трип records (Trip Records) for this song,” Ouri said in a statement. “Rebellious choruses fight submissive verses, puncturing the classical nuances with industrial abrasions and heavy drum samples – tearing down any attempt to keep a disciplined and soft self on top.”
The video is based on a ketamine treatment Ouri received last year, with it depicting some of her visions of engaging in a heroic battle and retrieving a lost connection with her ancestors.
Ouri will perform at the 2022 Polaris Music Prize Gala this upcoming Monday at Sept. 19 at the Carlu in Toronto.
