Shooting Near Oakland School Leaves at Least 6 Injured

At least six people have been transported to a nearby hospital after sustaining wounds from a shooting at a school in Oakland, California on Wednesday.
According to USA Today, Justin Berton, spokesperson for Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf, confirmed the shooting occurred. CBS News writes it transpired at “facilities shared by Rudsdale Newcomer and Bay Area Technology School (BayTech),” also home to the “Sojourner Truth Independent Study online learning program.”
The Oakland Police Department announced via Twitter that an investigation into a shooting in the 8200 block of Fontaine Street is underway.
Alameda County Sheriff spokesperson Lt. Ray Kelly said the situation is “no longer active.”
