ENNY Takes It Back To Thamesmead In “Champagne Problems” Video

A lot has changed for ENNY in the last two years.
“Peng Black Girls” marked the rapper out as a hit-maker and every release that followed only added more weight to her name. Huge festival stages, magazine covers and adoring fans have all flocked to her, but that tidal wave of success can come with pitfalls, and new single “Champagne Friends” unpacks some of those very problems.
Produced by Beat Butcha & Tala (with additional production from Will Yanez), ENNY speaks about the critical eye of the hip-hop community, the temptations of an expensive lifestyle, and wanting nothing more than to be alone with her pen and pad.
The track arrived with a fresh set of visuals from director Jean-Sébastien Degni, who strips away all the trappings of her fame and takes it right back to her home turf in Thamesmead, South East London. Keeping it simple in crisp black and white, it’s a back-to-basics affair for ENNY who gets right back in her barring bag.
“The problems I’ve had this year aren’t last year’s problems but they’re problems nevertheless,” ENNY said in a statement. “I call them ‘Champagne Problems’ because they are definitely the problems I would’ve rather had two years ago. With this track, it’s nice to just get back to freestyling and rapping as an art.”
