Morray Releases His Latest Song and Video “Da Rant”

With his debut album expected to arrive early next year, Morray returns with his new single “Da Rant.”
The introspective track arrives alongside an accompanying video, which doubles as a candid behind-the-scenes look at Morray’s recent rise. “Was running with the wrong crowd/Young, dumb, mad, loud/Time passed me by when I was sitting on that green mile,” Morray raps on the motivational cut.
Later, the Fayetteville native mentions a few hip-hop legends whom he hopes to reach the level of. “Nas, Biggie, Jay Z, man I need that kinda stamp,” he spits, “Tyson Floyd and Ali, I’m tryna be that kinda champ.”
“Da Rant” is the latest in a string of one-off singles the North Carolina artist has dropped this year, following “Broken Vows,” “Letter to Myself,” “Ticket,” “Momma’s Love,” and “Still Here.”
The song also arrives nearly two years since Morray dropped his debut full-length effort Street Sermons. Released in April 2021, the project came on the heels of the Fayetteville native’s breakout hit “Quicksand,” which peaked at No. 25 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
If Morray’s 2022 offerings are any indication, his next project should be a worthy follow-up to Street Sermons.
