Drake Replies Video of Bad Bunny Listening to Lyrics That Reference Him

Drake has, once again, commended Bad Bunny.
On Wednesday morning, the Puerto Rican superstar posted an Instagram Story of him jamming out to “Major Distribution” a standout track from Drake and 21 Savage’s joint project Her Loss. The video highlighted Drizzy’s first verse in which he aligns himself with Bad Bunny and salutes his financial success.
“Hmm, hmm, major distribution, labels call me Bad Bunny numbers, it’s a robbery,” Drake raps. “500 million, just for Aubrey.”
Several hours after Bad Bunny’s post, Drake reshared the clip on his own account along with a flattering caption: “You know who’s really running up the money,” he wrote, “it’s me and the [bunny emoji].”
It’s no secret that Drake and Bad Bunny have had a strong run throughout 2022, thanks in large part to their record-breaking No. 1 albums. Her Loss debuted in November atop the Billboard 200 in November with 404,000 album-equivalent units, while Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti debuted at the No. 1 slot in May with 274,000 units.
According to Pollstar, Bad Bunny also set the world record for the highest-grossing tour in a calendar year. His aptly titled “World’s Hottest Tour,” produced by Live Nation, reportedly racked in more than $435 million across 81 shows in 2022.
“I think we all feel very proud of what he’s accomplished,” Hans Schafer, SVP of Global Touring at Live Nation, told Pollstar. “Knowing that Bad Bunny has accomplished the No. 2 and No. 3 highest-grossing shows in history is a feat that is remarkable. It is huge for Latin and unprecedented and a remarkable accomplishment on its own, regardless of genre, to see an artist of his age reaching those heights is just something that makes it very promising for us, of what the future holds.”
The trek wrapped on an unfortunate note, however, as thousands of fans were scammed into buying fake tickets for the Mexico City show. Following the scandal, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador encouraged Bad Bunny to perform a free concert at the capital’s Zócalo square.
“It made us very emotional to see sad young people who couldn’t enter because their tickets were cloned, because they were cheated, some crying,” the president said, as reported by NPR. “They saved for a long time to be able to buy their tickets.”
Drake and Bad Bunny previous linked up “Mía,” a Spanish-language single from the latter’s 2018 debut album, X 100pre. The song peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and marked Bad Bunny’s first top 10 entry on the chart.
