It’s been almost two years since Jayson Tatum confirmed that he was getting a signature line with Jordan Brand. Now, we’re finally learning about his first signature model.
Today, Jordan Brand unveiled the Jordan Tatum 1, which Jordan Brand touts as the lightest shoe in its performance line this season. According to the brand, Tatum wanted a shoe that felt more connected to his foot. Fulfilling that request, designers built the Tatum 1 out of a lightweight TPU frame for the tooling that removes excess weight, while an uncaged Zoom Air bag in the forefoot produces high energy return without sacrificing court feel. The upper is made with a lightweight mesh that’s appeared with a padded collar providing ankle support.
“I want people to feel like they can connect to me,” Tatum said. “I remember being a kid, walking into the store, and looking for the signature shoes of my favorite players. The moment I saw the shoe or put the shoe on, I felt like I was in sync and closer to them in a way. So, I want this shoe to be a bridge between my fans and me to bring us closer together.”
For the Tatum 1, the Jordan Brand design team also created a kid-focused version of the shoe that kids could easily get in and out of. The kids’ version of the Tatum 1 features an injected TPU tailgate system for easy entry, while the forefoot Zoom Air bag on the adult’s pair has been removed for a more comfortable feel.
The Jordan Tatum 1 will be released in full-family sizing on April 7 at Nike.com and at select Jordan retailers for $120, with subsequent colorways available through June. Pictured below is the initial lineup, including the “Zoo,” “Pink Lemonade,” “St. Louis,” and “Barbershop” make-ups.
