Chance the Rapper’s Acid Rap mixtape will soon turn 10 years young. To celebrate this milestone, Chance has announced a special hometown show for later this year.
Announced Tuesday, Chance will return to the United Center in Chicago for an Acid Rap anniversary-celebrating show on Aug. 19. Providing support for the show, which marks Chance’s first time back at the arena in four years, is Saba.
Tickets and VIP-level packages for the show go on sale for the general public this Friday. An artist presale, meanwhile, is slated for Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time, with additional presale options also on the horizon. The celebration doesn’t stop with this August’s show, however, as Chance is also going to further commemorate the 10-year mark with everything from pop-up experiences to new merch.
For the latter, fans can expect to be able to shop Acid Rap anniversary pieces at this link starting April 30. Additionally, the date—which marks the exact 10-year anniversary of the tape’s original release—will see the track “Juice” finally being made available across all major streaming services for the very first time.
Next for Chance is Star Line Gallery, a medium-spanning project he spoke to Jordan Rose about for Complex last September. More recently, Chance again linked up with Vic Mensa for the track “Swish,” also featuring G-Eazy. Per Vic, the track stems from a “writing camp” he and Chance embarked on in Los Angeles.
“It was really just a fun, spontaneous vibe,” Vic said when rolling out the track last Friday. Hear it here.
