JAY-Z to Re-Open Webster Hall With B-Sides Show

JAY-Z will re-open the Webster Hall in Manhattan’s East Village later this month with a special B-sides show.
“In renovating one of New York’s most historic and iconic venues, our goals were simple and straightforward; maintain the integrity of the space, modernize it to create an incredible concert experience for fans and performers, and book a dynamic mix of artists in music today,” Jay Marciano, chairperson and CEO of AEG Presents, said in a news release Monday. “Today’s announcement of JAY-Z to open Webster Hall, along with an eclectic line-up of artists throughout its opening month, achieves all of those goals positioning the venue to continue its success for decades to come.”
The show is on April 26. General on-sale for tickets begins April 19 at 11 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster, with a limited number of pre-sale tickets available one day prior for American Express cardholders.
The reopening of the iconic venue follows a renovation period for the site, which was famously the location of an intended Kanye West pop-up show back in 2016 that ultimately became something very different. The April 26 re-opening show will mark the first time JAY-Z has performed at Webster.
Patti Smith and Her Band, MGMT, Sharon Van Etten, and Dillon Francis are among the additional artists confirmed for upcoming Webster Hall shows. In September, the venue’s Club Night series is expected to return.
The setlist for JAY’s 2015 Tidal x B-Sides show at Terminal 5 included plenty of deep cuts, as well as an assortment of special guests. Presumably, we can expect a similarly surprise-stacked approach with the recent Vanguard Award recipient’s Webster Hall show.
