Pete Davidson rolled through The Tonight Show headquarters Thursday night for some multifaceted Mortal Kombat 11 promo. As may very well end up being the case for the duration of human history, he was also asked about that now infamous Nobu dinner with Kids See Ghosts, Timothée Chalamet, and Kim Kardashian.

“That is really me, I’m not superimposed at all,” Davidson told host Jimmy Fallon of the birthday dinner for Kid Cudi, a friend the Big Time Adolescence star considers “the best musician that’s ever lived.”

As has been previously disclosed, Davidson wasn’t initially aware that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian would be dropping by the hangout, where he had earlier given staff his card so he could cover dinner as a Cudi gift. “The waiter comes and Kanye’s like ‘I want that stuff that’s not even on the menu, that crazy stuff!’ and I’m like ‘Oh my god, the crazy stuff!'” he said.

Though the wallet hit “actually wasn’t as bad” as one might assume, Davidson noted that Nobu is indeed not Applebee’s. Instead, he estimated, it’s roughly equivalent to 77 Applebee’s locations.

From there, Davidson—who was notably wearing a pair of the Under Armour x Mortal Kombat 11 shoes—explained the touching hometown connection he has to the new franchise entry. He specifically highlighted the douchebag-esque ways of character Johnny Cage, his favorite to take down when playing the game.

“He just looks like everybody I grew up with in Staten Island, so I just kill that dude,” Davidson joked to Fallon. “I enjoy killing him.” Elsewhere, Davidson discussed buying a new home for himself and his mother, his portion of which has since been dubbed The Basement. See the full interview up top.

Davidson recently portrayed Elektra exec Tom Zutaut in the Mötley Crüe biopic The Dirt for Netflix. In the aforementioned Sundance hit Big Time Adolescence, Davidson bagged glowing reviews for his performance, again opposite Machine Gun Kelly (a.k.a. Colson Baker).
