Nipsey Hussle‘s brother has his eyes on the late rapper’s assets.
The Blast reports that Samiel Asghedom, aka Blacc Sam, has filed a petition to become the administrator of Nipsey’s multimillion dollar estate. Asghedom says no one was legally designated to handle Nipsey’s fortune, after the Compton rapper died without a will. According to legal documents, Nipsey’s brother is seeking to become the administrator of Nipsey’s estate, which has an estimated value of more than $2 million. Asghedom says there has been an influx of business opportunities in the month following Nipsey’s murder; and he wants to ensure those offers are pursued in a timely and proper manner.
Asghedom writes: “[Nipsey’s] passing has created significant media attention, which, in turn has presented potential time-sensitive business opportunities based on [Nipsey Hussle]’s likeness, right of publicity, and other intellectual property based on the media attention surrounding [Nipsey Hussle]’s exceptional life story and musical career.”
A judge has yet to announce a ruling on Asghedom’s request. Stay tuned as more information about the petition becomes available.
As previously reported, Nipsey’s brother has also sided with their sister’s attempts to gain legal guardianship over the late rapper’s daughter Emani. Samantha Smith claims the child’s mother, Tanisha Foster, is incapable of providing proper care for Emani, who was living with Nipsey prior to his murder.
Smith says she wants “to ensure the continued stability for Emani and ensure that she will be able to maintain her current and ongoing relationship” with her paternal family.
The battle for guardianship will be addressed during a custody court hearing on May 14.
