Brad Pitt Wants ‘Straight Pride’ Parade Organizers to Stop Using Him as Their ‘Mascot’

Written by on June 7, 2019

TMZ has learned that Brad Pitt has reached out to the organizers of the Straight Pride Parade through his team, and demanded that they do not use his name or likeness for their event. The 55-year-old actor has also threatened to use further action if his request isn’t honored.

Pitt took these measures after discovering “The Straight Community” declared on their website that he has been adopted as their mascot. “The Straight Community has adopted Brad Pitt as our mascot,” the statement on their site reads. “Congratulations to Mr. Pitt for being the face of this important civil rights movement.”

Earlier this week, word of the organizers planning for a Straight Pride Parade tentatively scheduled for August 31 in Boston surfaced. The procession is said to mirror the same route used for the official Pride parade. They even filed a suit against the city over their refusal to allow their Straight Pride flag from flying on the flagpoles.

Pitt has remained relatively quiet in the face of some unwanted inclusion into the “Straight Community,” but the same cannot be said for fellow actor and Boston native Chris Evans, who has railed against the group in a few tweets.
