Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Dark Powder Blue/White’ ‘Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver/White’ Release Date
Written by SOURCE on June 7, 2019
The Air Jordan 1 is without a doubt one of the most important shoes of all time. Aside from being the first signature sneaker of Michael Jordan and a top lifestyle model to this day, it has been adopted by the skateboarding community over the years as well. This unlikely pairing was initially celebrated back in 2014 when Nike SB released three Air Jordan 1 High collaborations, two being the celebrated “Lance Mountain” renditions.
According to @pyleaks, the skating sub-brand is once again going to be putting its touch on the Air Jordan 1. However, this time around it will be low-tops. Although not quite as popular as its predecessor, it isn’t too odd to see SB re-creating the Air Jordan 1 Low—think about the vast array of Dunk Highs and Dunk Lows that have released over the years.
There will reportedly be two pairs of the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low dropping. One will be a “Dark Powder Blue/Dark Powder Blue/White” colorway. While no images have surfaced, one can’t help but relate the color choices to MJ’s alma mater, the UNC Tar Heels. The second pair will sport “Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver/White” color scheme.
Expect both Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Lows to arrive at select retailers in Summer 2019 for $110 each.
UPDATE (03/20): A first look at one-half of the upcoming Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low collaboration has surfaced, courtesy of @sayitwityakickz on Instagram. The pair sports a white leather upper, navy blue suede overlays, and a metallic silver Swoosh. Its main detail is a miniature infrared Jumpman stitched on the toe box. An exact release date still has yet to be announced.
UPDATE (03/25): More new images have surfaced of the “Midnight Navy/Metallic Silver/White” colorway of the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low, courtesy of @solebyjc on Instagram. A look at the inner tongue shows off an Eric Koston signature, suggesting that this pair is a collab with the pro skater.
UPDATE (06/07): The “Eric Koston” Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low will release on June 14 for $110. According to the SNKRS product description, this colorway was inspired by a pair of Air Jordan 1s owned by famed skater Gino Iannucci nearly 20 years ago before Nike SB came into existence. Iannucci showed his pair off to Koston, who chose to revisit the colorway for this pair in 2019.
