The last time Stoudemire was in the NBA, back in 2016, he was with the Miami Heat while Ellis was previously with the Pacers as recently as 2017. Stoudemire, who was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 2002, averaged 18.9 points during his NBA career while Ellis, who was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2005, averaged 17.8 points. Before he was with the Heat, Stoudemire played for the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks. Ellis played for the Milwaukee Bucks after being traded by the Warriors. He would go on to play for the Dallas Mavericks.
Amar’e Stoudemire and Monta Ellis will workout privately for at least five NBA teams from 6-7pm — in Las Vegas — on July 8, a source tells ESPN. Both players are healthy and hoping to sign with a contending team, such as the #Lakers.
