The First Trailer for ‘The King’s Man’ Is Here

Last year it was announced that 20th Century Fox has greenlit a third installment of the Kingsman series of films. Based on the comic book series of the same name, it was later revealed the third entry would feature an entirely new cast of characters as it explores the origins of how the secret spy service came to be. Now we’ve got our first look at the action-packed film, entitled The King’s Man.
The prequel stars Ralph Fiennes, Harris Dickinson, Liam Neeson, Daniel Brühl, Rhys Ifans, Gemma Arterton, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Charles Dance, and Djimon Hounsou among many others. In addition to featuring an absolutely stacked cast, Kingsman 1 and 2 director Matthew Vaughn has returned to the director’s chair, while Stranger Things season one showrunner Karl Gajdusek penned the script.
While the trailer doesn’t feature a lot in the way of laughs like the previous entries in the series did, Vaughn has still referred to The King’s Man as an action-comedy. With the likes of Fiennes involved, who showed his impressive comedic chops in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, fans can rest easy knowing it’s in good hands. The King’s Man hits theaters February 14, 2020.
Vaughn has always been up front when it comes to wanting Kingsman to be a trilogy of films, previously indicating that him and his team thought about it when they were working on The Golden Circle. “This is the bridge, if we can pull it off and get to make another one,” he said of the second film.
