Watch David Oyelowo and Storm Reid in New ‘Don’t Let Go’ Trailer

Blumhouse has been consistently cranking out thinking man’s spookfests for a few years at this point and Don’t Let Go looks to be more of the excellent same. A new trailer for the Storm Reid and David Oyelowo flick lays out an absolutely bonkers plot that is bound to have close watchers of the horror renaissance hyped.
Don’t Let Go follows Storm Reid as she tries to solve and prevent her own murder in a loopy time-travel take on the murder mystery. The A Wrinkle in Time and Euphoria star calls her uncle from beyond the grave (kind of, the time travel physics of the movie make things a bit loopy) so that he can solve her murder to keep it from happening again or for the first time.
The film comes at a time when we’ve seemingly fallen in love with the time travel loop as a plot device. Edge of Tomorrow kicked things off all the way back in 2014 with Tom Cruise‘s own personal forever war. Since then, horror and suspense have picked up on the Groundhog’s Day wave. Happy Death Day was Blumhouse’s first foray at the looping horror film and Netflix took its own whack at it with Natasha Lyonne’s Russian Doll. Don’t Let Go looks like a great addition for anyone who likes diagramming timelines as much as they do jump scares.
Anxious fans won’t have to wait long to see if Blumhouse has another hit. Don’t Let Go hits theaters on Aug. 30. Take a look at the trailer up top.
