Woman Loses Her County Job After Reporting Her Supervisor for Giving Lap Dance to Deputy

A Georgia woman claims she was fired from her job without explanation; however, she believes it has something to do with a lap dance she witnessed within the workplace.
According to WSB-TV Atlanta, former Clayton County Jail clerk Sharon Cunningham said was terminated after she reported her supervisor for giving a lap dance to a deputy. The county officials say the supervisor, Gwenevere McCord, was suspended for five days without pay for unprofessional behavior. Cunningham is now questioning why the incident resulted in her firing.
“Why I did I get fired off top? Everyone else gets suspension,” she told the outlet.
Though Cunningham said she was not given a reason for her termination, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said she was fired for “gossiping, making false allegations in writing, and lying while under investigation.” Cunningham denies the accusations, and insists everything she reported was true.
Cunningham is now seeking legal representation.
But wait: There’s more drama.
The supervisor who was accused of giving the lap dance was in the news several years ago after she was shot by Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill. The incident occurred back in 2015, when Hill wounded McCord, who was working as a realtor at the time. The sheriff called 911, claiming he accidently shot the woman while they “practiced police tactics.”
“As reported, on May 3, 2015, I was involved in a tragic and heartbreaking accident. Gwenevere McCord, who is very dear to me, was critically injured in this accident,” Hill wrote in a 2015 statement. “Please understand that for the past 48 hours, I have been entirely focused on Gwenevere and her family. I will continue to pray unceasingly for her recovery. I ask you all to please pray for Gwenevere and her family throughout this most difficult time.”
According to WSB-TV, Hill was ordered to pay a fine and was placed on probation following the shooting.
Cunningham claims Hill and McCord are now dating, which—if true—adds a whole other layer of crazy to this case.
