Colin Kaepernick Tells Eric Reid, Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson to ‘Stay Strong’

In the wake of JAY-Z‘s new partnership with the NFL, Colin Kaepernick had a message of support for his fellow players-turned-activists.
The former NFL quarterback took to Instagram on Sunday, and posted a split-screen image of Eric Reid, Kenny Stills, and Albert Wilson kneeling. In the caption, Kaepernick urged his former colleagues to “stay strong.”
“My Brothers @e_reid35 @kstills @ithinkisee12 continue to fight for the people, even in the face of death threats,” Kaepernick wrote. “They have never moved past the people and continue to put their beliefs into action. Stay strong Brothers!!!”
The post comes just days after JAY-Z held a press conference with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday, where he formally announced Roc Nation’s partnership with the league, while also claiming that the nation has “moved passed kneeling.” While some people criticized JAY-Z for partnering with the NFL, others applauded him, including Cardi B, who said she believes he can use his power to get Kaepernick back in the NFL. But not everybody is in Kaepernick’s corner. On his Instagram Story Sunday, rapper Freddie Gibbs said “F**k Colin Kaepernick.”
“I’m riding with JAY-Z, straight up,” Gibbs said. “F**k Colin Kaepernick. All of y’all marching for Kaepernick and he took a settlement. Ain’t tell y’all what he got or nothing… He settled. Let it go. Y’all hating on JAY-Z for trying to own something in the NFL. Y’all n***as some motherf**king crabs man.”
