Fans and Analysts Have a Field Day With Antonio Brown’s Release

Naturally, the quick end of Antonio Brown‘s time with the Raiders was met with a polarizing reaction.
Things started going sideways soon after the Steelers traded the wide receiver to the Raiders in March. First, Brown was placed on the non-football injury list heading into training camp due to foot burns he suffered while undergoing cryotherapy. It was quickly revealed there was a lot more to his absence. Brown felt the new required helmets limited his visibility, so he held out of training camp and threaten to quit if he wasn’t able to wear the Schutt AiR Advantage helmet he’s worn his whole career. Eventually, this issue was resolved but his conduct resulted in heavy fines from the Raiders.
Afterward, Brown and general manager Mayock got into a verbal altercation, where the wide receiver allegedly threatened to punch Mayock in the face. Brown apologized to the team after rumors of an upcoming suspension. Still, the franchise decided to void $29.125 million of AB’s guaranteed money for the altercation, which prompted AB to take to Instagram and demand the team release him.
When the Raiders obliged, fans and analysts erupted with opinions on the end of this saga.
