Mike Scott Drops Several Fans After They Tried to Get at Him for His Redskins Jersey

Philadelphia loyalists are some of the most passionate fans in sports, especially when it comes to the Eagles. This blind allegiance was on full display when a group of Eagles fans decided to fight the Sixers‘ Mike Scott.
Philly fans were excited to kick-off the NFL season with a home opener against their division rival, the Washington Redskins. Although Mike Scott plays for the Sixers, the Chesapeake, Virginia native wanted to support the DMV by wearing a ‘Skins jersey to Lincoln Financial Field.
Because he’s a fan favorite during the NBA season, Scott decided to join the organized Eagles tailgate prior to kickoff. But, the hooper quickly realized that the football fever runs hot in Philly when a group of fans tried to attack him. Although there are no official reports confirming that this fight was prompted by his jersey, witnesses claim that the altercation began because of Scott’s Redskins gear.
From videos captured of the fight, it’s clear that the presumably inebriated fans were no match for the 6′ 8″, 237-pound power forward. In the short clip, Scott is seen dropping fans in waves. Still, there’s something to admire about their confidence (or stupidity).
According to Deadspin, no police reports were filed for the altercation. In fact, Scott even shared a picture of himself post kickoff without a scratch on him.
