Kevin Hart Reportedly Released From Hospital Following Car Crash

Written by on September 12, 2019

Kevin Hart‘s road to recovery is going just as expected.

The 40-year-old comedian was reportedly released from a California hospital Wednesday, exactly 10 days after he was involved in a serious car crash. Sources tell TMZ that Hart is now undergoing intensive physical therapy at an undisclosed live-in rehab facility, where he will likely remain for about one week. Insiders say his team is aiming to get the comedian home as soon as possible so he can begin outpatient care.

Sources say Hart is “glad” to be out of the hospital and has maintained a positive outlook, reportedly stating: “I’m just grateful to be alive.”

Hart was hospitalized over Labor Day weekend, after his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda crashed off Mulholland Highway in Malibu. The vehicle was being driven by a man identified as Jared Black, while Hart and a woman named Rebecca Broxterman sat in the passenger seats.

It was later reported that Hart had to have surgery to treat three spinal fractures he sustained in the crash.

“Kevin’s spinal injuries are very serious, he sustained several fractures and had no choice but to have surgery as soon as possible,” a source told ET Online. “Since the surgery he has been heavily sedated. The physicians are doing everything they can to keep him out of pain.”

We’ll keep you posted as more details about Hart’s recovery become available.
