Black Cat Runs on Field During Cowboys/Giants Game and People Had Jokes

Halloween is over, but one black cat apparently didn’t get the memo.
The cat strolled on to the field at MetLife Stadium on Monday night, when the Dallas Cowboys took on the New York Giants during Monday Night Football. The game featured two of the NFL’s best running backs in Ezekiel Elliott and Saquon Barkley, but their elusiveness was no match for the cat, who juked out several New Jersey state troopers before making a swift exit.
According to reporter Madelyn Burke, the cat wasn’t a exactly an intruder. The security at MetLife told Burke that the feline is one of several stray cats that live inside the stadium. As of 10:44 p.m. ET on Monday, employees at MetLife were still looking for the cat. The stadium released a statement claiming it will take the cat to the nearest “veterinarian for examination,” once it’s able to corral the animal. “Apparently there are some resident stray cats at MetLife— they usually come out after the game, people feed them, etc.,” Burke tweeted. “They live in the bleachers, I’m told this one must have gotten startled out by fan noise.”
The cat’s presence was only upstaged by the myriad of reactions, as well as Kevin Harlan’s incredible play-by-play of the incident.
The cat’s presence was also bad luck for the home, Giants as the Cowboys went on to a commanding 37-18 victory over New York.
