Mondo has unveiled the first in a series of officially licensed pieces in collaboration with film company Toho Co. Ltd. celebrating the 65th anniversary of the revered Godzilla monster’s pop culture arrival.
“What better way for Godzilla to celebrate 65 years of cinematic and pop culture history than to partner with the team at Mondo?” Toho associate brand manager Chris Mowry told Complex of the collection’s launch, slated for Nov. 14 via the official Mondo site. “Like the Godzilla brand itself, Mondo has something for everyone, and there are some exciting new products on the way that are sure to please both the new fans as well as the hardcore collectors out there.”
The Godzilla collection launches with a zip-up hoodie by Maggie Chiang and a long-sleeve tee by Matt Taylor. The collection also boasts tees by Becky Cloonan, We Buy Your Kids, and Chiang. Additionally, Tom Whalen-designed pins are included.
According to the Mondo team, the collection marks the “start of something new and exciting,” with the coming months set to bring the reveal of plans for additional Toho x Mondo posters, tiki mugs, and more.
