Alicia Keys Goes Retro for Her “Time Machine” Video

Alicia Keys has unleashed her new song “Time Machine” alongside a retro video. The track is the second preview of her currently untitled seventh studio album, due in 2020.
Set in a roller rink, the colorful Timeless Eye Productions-directed video pushes the throwback vibe of the track to the foreground. “It feels like a skating song to me,” said Keys in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Like after you’ve gone around a few times, and you finally get your legs and you’re free and you’re just able to completely be yourself…not worried about Am I gonna fall? Am I gonna trip? Is someone going to bump into me?”
“Time Machine” follows the release of the 21 Savage-featuring remix for “Show Me Love,” and the news that she will host the 2020 Grammys. Keys, who has won 15 Grammys of her own throughout her career, hosted the 2019 ceremony, too. She also recently made an appearance at JAY-Z’s inaugural Shawn Carter Foundation Gala, which ultimately raised $6 million for the charity.
