New York Knicks: 5 Potential New Head Coaches After David Fizdale
Written by SOURCE on December 6, 2019
Another year, another coaching search upcoming for the New York Knicks after the team fired David Fizdale after less than two full seasons on Friday afternoon. Coach Fizdale was far from perfect as the coach of the Knicks, but you can’t really blame him for another disaster of a season at MSG with the roster that was given to him this past summer. The team struck out on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and instead signed players like Julius Randle and Marucs Morris. While Morris and Randle could be fine pieces on good teams, the Knicks needs superstars to turn this around.
Things were never setup for success this year, and it’s quite obvious that the front office needs to be held accountable for the players they signed. Team President Steve Mills and GM Scott Perry will surely try and transform the PF-heavy roster during trade season and another lottery pick is heading to the team in June. RJ Barrett is a good young player and a draft pick like LaMelo Ball could really spark the organization.
Of course, they need to find a new coach to lead this young team. With the Knicks set to once again look for a guy to lead them back to the playoffs, the Complex Sports team put together five potential targets that could fill the role going forward. Of course, these aren’t the only coaches out there, and the Knicks would be wise to do an extensive search, but these names will surely come up.
