Meek Mill and the DreamChasers hosted their second annual holiday toy giveaway in the rapper’s North Philadelphia neighborhood Saturday.
The event, hosted at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, provided toys to over 3,500 kids in need. The Dreamchasers rapper—along with the Sixers’ Trey Burke, Philly rapper Shawn Smith, heavyweight boxer Darmani Rock, and dirt biker Chino Braxton—handed out bikes, video games, art kits, board games and much more. He also raffled off 10 Xboxes and tickets to 76ers games. Meek partnered with PUMA, Activision, GoPuff, and Docuvault for the event.
Here’s some video of the event:
Earlier today, the generous rapper brought a group of Philly kids whose lives have been affected by the justice system in some way to New York City for a shopping spree, ABC 6 reports.
The kids also got a chance to fly on the New England Patriots’ team plane, courtesy of owner Robert Kraft. They will have the opportunity to watch the Patriots play the Buffalo Bills Saturday.
The day before, Meek and his record label sponsored a holiday giveaway at Hawkins Village Community Center in remembrance of the late Antwon Rose II, an unarmed black teen who was shot and killed last year by a white police officer during a traffic stop.
